So I wanted to give some tips so anyone out there who is not tech savvy I always get compliments on the quality of my show what I mean quality I mean the quality of the video itself. They say the image is so clear and my lighting always looks so natural like daylight even though they know is midnight where I am at. I'm a photographer and videographer in real life so It was easy for me to transition those skills into camming.
Professional Camera Recommendation
I noticed an amazing increase in viewers since I setup a designated area for my camming with professional gear. I mean we are getting pay for camming so we are professional cam models so we should provide a professional-looking video. I suggest with your first paycheck to invest in the products you need you will quickly make the profit back and you can always deduct the equipment you get once tax time comes. I will listed them from most important to least.
Camera
High-Quality HD cam with 30fps or more. You want your viewers to have a smooth video of you not choppy. I suggest Logitech C920 $79.99
Professional Lighting Setup
A 3-light setup with umbrellas to diffuse the light to a soft natural glow. This will keep you from having harsh shadows that are not pleasing and make your video look professional and make you look better. My suggestion Ephoto 3 softbox studio light setup ($129.99)
Internet Speed
Get the business package from your internet provider; you are a business after all, and they will provide you with the highest speed. I use 40mbps download and 5mbps upload. Also, make sure your computer is hardwired via an Ethernet cable and you are not using Wi-Fi; this will increase your speed and bandwidth substantially.
Computer
Make sure you use a computer with a good processor and enough RAM. I suggest at least 4GB of RAM. I upgraded mine to 8GB of RAM just for camming to make sure my computer is working fast enough to handle streaming high-quality video.
Software
If you have seen my shows you will notice I stand out from other cams I use picture in picture customers go crazy for this I have 2 cameras 1 camera is showing my body and the other camera is showing a close up of my face. They get to see the best of both worlds. I used my first check to buy all this stuff and made these upgrades, and I noticed it did improve my viewer count and $ overall. Clients want to see a good quality show and they will skip a grainy dark room for a bright clear picture. The other question about lighting and moving around with a 3 light setup in a dedicated camming room this type of light setup covers a large area so you can move from your computer to your bed if your computer is atleast 4-6 feet from your bed and in the same room as your bed. All you do is increase the power on the light so they are brighter if you are going to be moving further away from them this will make the light travel further away. Most Studios lights have a knob for you to decrease or increase brightness.
How to get Business internet High speeds you just contact your internet provider and ask them to change you to a bussiness account because you are running a bussiness home office from your house and they will switch up. Right now I'm on the bussiness account and my internet has upgraded to 150mbps upload and 20mbps download.
