Tristan published: Interview with LustyLucy from IndieCamFans

Hi LustyLucy, thank you for doing an interview with us here on WeCamgirls. You have a lot of experience in the adult world and now you've been working hard on your project IndieCamFans. How would you explain the site to those who don't know it?

IndieCamFans is an independent cam model site: a site where fans of indie cam models can find kink-friendly and experienced models and book cam shows (one-on-one and threesomes+), phone sex, sexting, customized girlfriend experience packages and personal items.

It was started by my partner Mike and myself. We started working together in my first year in the adult entertainment industry. Two decades later, he has given me the opportunity to partner with him on a site. The concept of IndieCamFans has been evolving but the heart has always been the same:

We strive to be model centered by providing a good payout as well as support. We love working with models who want to build their brand and offer opportunities beyond working on IndieCamFans!

How did you get into the adult industry?

I read an article in Marie Claire magazine about phone sex in 2001. I was always talking about sex to anyone who cared to listen at the time, so I thought I’d enjoy it. At first, I worked on websites on which we used stock photos and had 800-numbers for the clients to call to reach us directly or through a dispatch. I had seven different characters whose names I can still remember!

In 2006, I decided to try camming. I started out doing one-on-one independent cam modeling through various websites while simultaneously trying a few livestreaming sites. I am rather introverted and prefer a more intimate setting in my personal life, socially, so I suppose it’s no surprise I am more naturally inclined to do better with one-on-one and have focused on it.

How long have you been a part of the industry?

23 years – I took multiple-year hiatus, but continued to work some of my phone sex lines part-time. I’ve been back to working cam full time since 2013!

How would you describe yourself, and what is your area of expertise?

I am a sweet, kindhearted and sometimes feisty person.

On cam shows, I try my best to focus on the person in front of me and allow my sexual side to come out. I specialize in my own spin on the girlfriend experience (I am a slutty GFE), submission and masochism. I love BDSM and enjoy talking to anyone who is also into it.

What I have to offer cam models is my drive and determination. I am deeply passionate about working with cam models. I believe in what we do. Sex work has been a part of society forever and I hope it always will be. Cam models provide a safe outlet for those who can’t otherwise explore sexually. Whether it’s about stress relief or something much deeper, cam models help people every single day.

What is your ultimate goal for the company? What about for the cam industry in general?

My ultimate goal for IndieCamFans is for it to have a part in making each of our models successful. I can see the site growing and gaining it’s own spotlight in the industry. Doing so without changing our heart is my goal.

I would love for cam modeling to be accepted as a real job and for sex workers in general to stop being a target for vile jokes. We are human. Full stop.

What can we expect from your company in the near future? Are you going to introduce new features?

We have several projects currently in the works including upcoming podcasts, special PPV style cam shows as well as text chat for IndieCamFans models and clients.

We are also working on an affiliate program that will allow our models to earn an extra 5% on all sales made through their affiliate link. We currently offer 80% on everything. With the link, models will earn 85% on their sales and 5% on other model’s sales.

What are the best and worst things about having a company that is involved in the cam industry?

I don’t want to think in terms of the “worst”, but I will tell you the hardest and then I will tell you the best.

The hardest part about having a company that is involved in the cam industry has been having balance. I get very excited about what we’re doing and put a lot into it, yet I still have my own calls and shows to do in a recession when the industry is over-saturated with new models. This is a time when those who want this job need to be flexible, harness the moments of brilliance and put in the work to make their ideas real.

It takes a lot to juggle all the above, social needs, sleep and fit in hobbies too!

The best for me has been finding a community of amazing humans within this industry. I could pinch myself every day because I get to work with cam models from around the world, working a job they enjoy, as they are able to set their own rules, hours, limits and boundaries.

What is your off-the-job life like? And do you tell everybody that you work in this industry?

I spend a lot of time with friends and family. I like to get one-on-one with those who are close to me. Everyone who matters knows what I do! Most of them are very supportive while others are supportive as long as I don’t share stories!

What is your view on the future of camming?

Do you mean will AI take over or will the aliens get to us first? While AI may try to ruffle some feathers there is no way that a “one-on-one” cam experience can ever be duplicated by AI, so yes, I believe the aliens would get to us first!

Cam shows will always be around, there are so many niches and kinks out there as well as people just looking to have someone to communicate with. A good model will know her clientele and thrive.

Do you have a funny story or experience to share and maybe some tips for new cammodels?

This job can be isolating and draining. Burn out is extremely common. The solution for me has been balance. Here’s what works for me:

  • I prioritize all the things that keep a person healthy: sleep, food, getting outside, etc.
  • I lean on my community of models. Having a lot of model friends helps because no one understands like they do!
  • I try to harness my creative energy and the ideas it gives me because, in my case, inspiration doesn’t come often.
  • Hard work is essential on days I don’t have inspiration.

What's your life motto?

Celebrate uniqueness and approach life with kindness, whenever possible😊
