When starting your adventure into the cam world we all know we need to have a good internet connection, a good camera, toys, clothes, and to dress to kill (sexually lol), but another good tool to have in your bag of tricks is Twitter! As you draw in more followers and invite them to your cam, you will see your income grow. Twitter is free, fun, and allows a cam model to send photos, public Tweets, and private messages to the masses.
Creating a Captivating Twitter Profile
- Making a good looking Twitter profile. Includes a photo of yourself and mentions that you are a model, add a link to the site you're on/or where you can be found. I have my twitter linked to my blog so no matter what site I am on people can find me because I have all the site's I am on listed in my blog (including Camgirl Collective).
- Using hashtags (i.e., #) to make sure you come up in a Twitter search.
Engaging with Your Followers
Update your followers. Tweet when you will be online so viewers know when to tune in (e.g., 'Going online in 15 minutes. Come join the fun!'). If you are on more than one site adding a link to the site you are going to be on that day (Don't make it a hide and seek game) will help your followers find you. These tweets help add suspense by giving them hints to what you have in store for them like what you might be wearing or the toys you are going to be using! Keep your followers engaged even when you are not on, by tweeting things throughout the day! How you may ask, take anything you did that day and make it sound sexy ('worked my body hard today visit me later and I will show you the results!').
Showcasing Your Identity
Fill up your Twitter photo gallery. Once you tweet a photo, Twitter will store it in your gallery. Mix it up sexy, cute, and everyday photos. It allows viewers to see the many layers of you! Tweeting a photo is also a great way to remind them of you, even when you aren't online. You want them thinking about you as much as possible! It also allows new followers a view of what you have to offer them.
Acknowledging Your Fans
Tweet after you've gone off cam, take a few minutes to thank your tippers and mention how much fun you had. Any other specifics are great because it makes your followers that missed the show feel like they've missed something GOOD. Twitter is free and easy, so why not start there?
Supporting Your Cam Community
Follow other cam girls. Other cam girls are not your enemy; they are your co-workers, friends and what not. Give shout outs like #FF (Follow Friday), if they tweet that they are on and you are not re-tweet it (and have them do the same for you). It's not about stealing customers it's about helping each other out.

This tactic does NOT work for everyone. Leaving your twitter open is a great way to stimulate an online fan base, truly. But I'm going another way with it, for now anyway.
