Good webcams are important for a good show. The question is which one to use? What are the pros and cons of different cams and how about the price? Every week well review a new webcam from e.a. Logitech, Microsoft and HP. All cams are in HD of course. The biggest name in the webcam branch is Logitech. They produce great cams and a lot of girls still use the Pro 9000 (which has undeniably been one of the best on the market). But the cam is a couple of years old, what are the newer top models? HP Webcam HD 3110 (mid-range) When thinking of webcams, HP is not the first brand you think off. This model however is worth considering. The cam provides a nice and clear 1280 x 720 (or 720p) pixel picture. You dont need a bright light to get the high quality. A normal living room light will be enough. You can make screen captures while video chatting. The quality is okay, but dont expect to make a poster out of it. The still image resolution is 5.7 MP and compared to other cams at the lower end. The HD 3110 is easy to use because of its software, but also because of the three buttons on the camera itself. One is for taking a snapshot, one is for starting the recording of a video and one is for starting instant chat. The adjustable clip on the cam should attach to any desktop or laptop and on the back youll find the USB connector, so hiding the cable wont be a problem. Full rotation can be an important aspect, and this cam has it. There is also face tracking to keep everything in focus and noise reduction to exclude background noises. The price of the HD 3110 is a great bargain.
