Just lost $590 because
Paxum changed their default settings without notifying their users.
Previously, there were incidents where withdrawals from
Paxum to South African bank accounts, would be rejected after being pending for days at end. Every time, it would turn out that the bank could not receive funds from
Paxum anymore, and then I'd have to open another bank account. Not one time, did
Paxum inform their users when these problems occurred.
Finally, no more South African banks were able to receive funds from
Paxum anymore, and USDC (ERC20) became the only way to withdraw funds from
Paxum to South Africa.
For months now, I have been using the default Crypto option available on
Paxum to withdraw funds from
Paxum. Today, as with previous times, I clicked on the default Crypto option, and inserted my Crypto wallet address...only to see afterward, that
Paxum had changed the default option to USDT and that USDC was no longer available.
I immediately jumped on their online chat, where I was then informed: "Unfortunately, transfers in USDC currency are temporarily disabled due to a technical error..."
And my $590...is now lost, because
Paxum sent it as USDT to a USDC wallet which cannot receive it, and it cannot be recovered. I lost all this money because
Paxum changed the default options without -once again -notifying their users.
As for
Paxum, they off course take no responsibility for changing the default options without notifying anyone. It was all my fault, and they carry no blame.
Nice!
